Rachel and Kasia get Pretty Muddy

Back

Rachel and Kasia who work at the O2 Store in Worksop decided to take part in the Cancer Research Race for Life Pretty Muddy event this year. Both of whom in the last few years have had family members battling cancer.

Pretty Muddy News

Rachel’s Aunt was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2015 & Kasia’s Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018. Rachel’s Aunt has bravely fought and beaten her cancer now and is 18 months clear. Kasia’s Mum is still fighting strong and is currently undergoing treatment.

Cancer is a cruel and horrible disease. It’s unbiased not caring about age, race or religion and 1 in 2 people in the UK will get cancer in their lifetime. It’s a scary thought and both myself and Kasia want to try and help bring these odds to an end to kick Cancers butt once and for all!

The atmosphere on the day was absolutely amazing with thousands of us taking part all with our own reasons encouraging us to participate. It was most certainly a big eye-opener reading everyone’s reasons for racing. People were racing for their Mothers, Fathers, Aunties, Uncles, Grandparents, friends and young children.

Both Rachel and Kasia said “it was a day charged with many emotions but oh so rewarding once we had crossed the finish line knowing we had helped contribute something whether it be towards the research they conduct in helping finding a cure for Cancer or providing support”.

Together Rachel and Kasia raised £192 and hope this will help towards a cure or support which so many are eagerly waiting for.
