On the 30th of August Talk Direct continued its work in the community by again visiting the Sheffield Royal Society for The Blind to help their visually impaired clients with mobile technology.

SRSB NEWS

This was the second time Talk Direct and SRSB had collaborated together, after successfully holding a similar event earlier on this year.

Mark Skelton and two of the company's O2 gurus Phil Lai and Josh Suter took a few devices down to the Sheffield city centre office, so they could show people how the accessibility features can help even if you have a visual impairment. Mark himself knows how important these features are as since his own personal sight loss, He cannot read or write without them.

Once again the people they met where impressed with how a tablet or phone can help to overcome issues that living with sight loss can cause. Given a little tuition and guidance anybody can use these devices and this theory was proved by an incredible lady we met on the day. Gladys who even at the age of 92 was willing to give technology a try and managed to navigate an iPhone quite comfortably!

The Talk Direct team had a great day down at the SRSB.

Sheffield Royal Society for The Blind have been a huge help to Talk Directs project iCare and we look forward to continue our partnership. We will be holding more events with them later on in the year.
