Talk To The Royal Society for the Blind and the Rotherham Sight and Sound

Back

On 20th November, Mark Skelton was invited to the New York Stadium in Rotherham to speak on behalf of two charities to local business about being visually impaired.

The Royal Society for the Blind and the Rotherham Sight and Sound are the two charities that we at Talk Direct have helped for a number of years now and hold regular events for. We aim to help both charities so that they can support and teach their clients how to make the most of their smart devices.

The idea was for Mark to speak about his sight loss journey and about how Talk Direct helped develop his career after losing 80% of his sight.

Overall the event was a huge success and was attended by many businesses and local authority leaders including the Mayor of both Sheffield and Rotherham.

Mark confidently spoke about how a few simple technology aids could help somebody suffering from sight loss adjust at work and how he manages his job role on a daily basis.  He is an avid supporter of both sight loss charities and couldn’t have been happier representing Talk Direct.
