Skills Fair 2019
On the 7th February Talk Direct were invited to take part in a skills fair for 15 -16 year old students, to offer our help and support and guide them in the right direction to help make the right career or further study choices once they have left school. The event took place at the Doncaster Dome and was attended by 2500 students from across the Yorkshire region.
We took along James Blackwell and Rebekah Brett from our Guru team to talk about their role and to show the students attending what they do on a day to day basis in our stores.
At Talk Direct we always encourage people of all ages to embrace technology to make things easier but with such a young audience they were very keen to hear about the O2 Guru role.
There were over 50 other exhibitors who attended the event including representatives from Amazon, Barclays and South Yorkshire Police. There were a range of different businesses for the students to talk to but there were also several colleges and universities on site to offer advice on further education. Overall, the event was a huge success for everybody involved and we are excited and looking forward to attending again next year.
