Not many people are actually aware that each dog costs the charity almost £55,000 throughout its life and with no government funding every penny donated to them goes a long way.

As a result of the amount of money we raised in our 16 stores we have been given the opportunity to name a puppy, so after much thought we decided to name him Ralph.

This week we got to meet him when he was brought to our O2 store in the Merrion Centre in Leeds by Charlotte Waltion on behalf of the charity. It was fantastic to see what our staff’s fund raising work had achieved and to also know what a huge difference this dog was going to make in someones life.

Ralph is 5 months old now and currently lives with a volunteer who will look after him until he is about 12 months old. After this he will go to a guide dog training centre until he is matched with a visually impaired person. By this stage he will be around 2 years of age and fully trained.

It is great to know what a difference our donation has made to Guide Dogs and how it will change the life of his new companion one day. The charity do some fantastic work in the community, and really do change peoples lives for the better.

As a company, it was a pleasure to help such a worthy cause and we are delighted to have helped Ralph on his exciting journey.
