The morning workshops were provided by enthusiastic artists in music, art, drama and dance. The afternoon’s workshops which included CV writing, presentation skills, interview skills and Global Citizenship were help by partner organisations Free The Children and Barclays Corporate.

The young people heard inspiring speeches throughout the day from Diana Award Ambassador Kate Hardcastle, Talk Direct’s Habib Khatib and our CEO Tessy Ojo.

The day finished with a Dragon’s Den panel giving young people the opportunity to pitch their ideas of a social action project to our Dragons. Chaired by Talk Direct’s Managing Director Zak Patel the other panellists were BBC Look North Correspondent Dannielle Hewson, Talk Direct’s Linda Jones and Diana Champion Fundraiser Bethany Hare.

It was a tough decision but in the end McAuley Catholic High School won and as a prize have received private business consultation sessions with Talk Direct to help make their social action project a reality
