Supporting the Visually Impaired Community at Sight Village in Leeds

Back

On September 26th, Talk Direct continued its work with the visually impaired community by attending Sight Village in Leeds.

Sight Village Leeds

The event was held at the Royal Amouries and was all about technology and how it could help people of all ages who are suffering from sight loss. This event was huge and and is attended by over 1000 people and had over 50 stalls where different companies and charities offered their help and support.

We sent along two members of staff from our O2 Guru team, along with Mark Skelton to offer help and technical support to anyone using a mobile phone or tablet device. Accessibility is so crucial to the visually impaired and we have proved over many years now how Talk Direct are keen to support this issue. The technical world is fast moving and major improvements are taking place all the time, but without training and support many sight loss sufferers aren’t feeling the benefits.

The event was a huge success for us and we have already had contact from many of the people attending in regards to getting more help and support. Unfortunately, sight loss is increasing year on year so more and more people are needing support. With the reputation that our project iCare now has we are being recommended by many people as a point of contact for accessibility training.

We are more than happy to help and support people make the most of technology to improve their daily lives.
